With Pentax integrated into the Skyport protocol, Hi-Sync, HSS and TTL are now available to almost every photographer.

The Elinchrom Transmitter PRO is well known by Nikon, Canon, Sony, Olympus and Panasonic users.

Highly anticipated by the PENTAX community, they will know have the ability to bring TTL, HSS or Hi-Sync to their Elinchrom setup. All the latest features are now available with the Transmitter PRO for PENTAX.

Compatibility for all with the ELB 500 TTL.

The ELB 500 TTL is the ideal tool for photographers who find themselves in time-sensitive shooting environments. The speed of TTL lets them capture images at the speed of life or simply more conveniently.

The “Manual Lock” functionality allows photographers to get an initial “lock” on their exposure in TTL and then switch to manual mode to further adjust their exposure as they need or to explore different creative effects.

“PENTAX K-1 Upgrade Service” won the Good Design Gold Award!

“PENTAX K-1 Upgrade Service” won the Good Design Gold Award!

“PENTAX K-1 Upgrade Service” won the 2018 Good Design Gold Prize (Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award) at the 2018 Good Design Award sponsored by the Japan Design Promotion Organization.

Reason for awards · Evaluation by judges is as follows.

” PENTAX K-1 Upgrade Service “

They answered honestly the requests and demands of many camera users. In the camera industry, the same products are frequently updated with MARK II, III, and new products will appear, but there are many that the appearance of cameras has hardly changed.

In such a case, what the user wants is more advanced performance, and there are many cases that it is not another camera.

Sharing the moment of memories together, sharing the moment of memories, and changing the camera as a familiar “thing” one after another, just because of the performance got outdated or something is different. There are also many users who felt so.

It may be good to purchase a completely new product in order to pursue the profit of the manufacturer, but it is a service from the viewpoint that the user truly wants it is this kind of thing. We sincerely welcome such initiatives and want to evaluate highly.

Image Sync 2.0.0 Update

Image Sync 2.0.0 Update

Fully updated version (Ver. 2.0.0) of Image Sync wireless LAN application will be released

RICOH IMAGING COMPANY, LTD. is pleased to announce the release of Image Sync Ver. 2.0.0, a fully updated version of the application dedicated to our digital cameras.

Updated functions of Image Sync Ver. 2.0.0

  • Addition of horizontal mode:
This mode allows the user to position an external terminal horizontally in remote shooting mode and capture Live-view images larger than those captured by the conventional vertical mode (note: the terminal must provide horizontal/vertical display switching). Also, pressing the INFO button on the application menu provides a full-screen Live-view image on the terminal, so the user can check the image composition on the screen larger than the LCD monitor on the camera’s back panel.
  • Improved user interface:
We have made a thorough review of the layout and icons used on the menu in order to facilitate easier access to various functions and allow for intuitive operation.

The updated version displays a progress bar on each transferred image, allowing the user to more accurately monitor the progress of image transfer. It also allows for midway cancellation of image transfer. In addition, the user can now separate images stored on the camera between transferred and non-transferred ones on the display, preventing unnecessary, repeated transfer of the same image.

Compatible cameras:

PENTAX K-1 Mark II, PENTAX K-1, PENTAX KP, PENTAX K-70, PENTAX K-S2, RICOH WG-M2, GR II

Another significant feature now provided with the Pro transmitter is the new TCM function.

This is Godox and Flashpoint’s version of Hybrid or Fusion TTL, where its now possible to take a shot in TTL mode to attain a correct exposure very quickly, and then at the press of a button convert those TTL power levels to display on the transmitter as Manual power levels.

The manual power levels can then be further refined, and provide consistent exposures for further shots in the same set up and environment.

The TCM function can provide a large advantage when operating in a fast paced environment, allowing a base setting to be gained very quickly without manually metering lights. Switching to manual the individual power levels can then be refined as needed, and exposures remain constant for subsequent images.

Other features include a flash Zoom control screen, and a large graphic menu with custom functions –

The Pro transmitter provides similar range and reliability to the original R2 and XT transmitters, and also currently use the same AF assist light, and regular screw locking foot.

Test Pt. 2/2 – Portrait/Landscape Test

But… There is a mistake here technically. Object has to be in same dimensions on the frame for 100% right comparison. For example if we use 1 m -lens to object- distance for a 50 mm lens, should be ~0.86 m for a 43 mm. Otherwise this technical mistake effects bokeh dramatically!

Also a 50 mm lens gives more smooth bokeh -than a 43 mm lens- on the background thanks to its +7 mm tele magnification factor. So would be a mistake to say: “HD PENTAX-D FA★ 50mm F1.4 SDM AW is better than the smc PENTAX FA 43mm F1.9 Limited about bokeh quality.” etc.

To understand roughly you can check Michael Bemowski’s DOF Simulator!
