“We’ve just added Ricoh’s Pentax K-3 II to our studio test scene. An evolution of the K-3, it offers a 24MP stabilized CMOS sensor with a clever mode that uses the in-body stabilization system to shift the sensor so that each position has recorded red, green and blue data, giving full color information in the final image. We also see better noise performance, as we’d expect from a mode that samples the scene multiple times.
This new feature presented a great opportunity to test out a new Pentax lens for the studio scene, the SMC DA* 55mm F1.4. Does the new lens compliment the fancy moves of the sensor? Take a look at our studio scene and find out.”
