Ricoh Imaging won awards in this year’s iF DESIGN AWARDS 2020 for the RICOH GR III and the RICOH THETA Z1 in the “Product” category.
RICOH GR III
iF DESIGN AWARD 2020, Discipline: Product
GR III is the latest in the GR Series of high-performance compact digital cameras, loved by fans for its unique concept that has stayed unchanged for 23 years. All components, including the lens, image sensor, and image processor, were re-designed for enhanced image quality, portability, and quicker response. There is also a shake reduction mechanism similar to that of single-lens reflex cameras; yet the body is kept slim and compact, giving the user the freedom to shoot great pictures anytime, anywhere. Even in the age of the smartphone, GR III remains the ultimate snapshooter.
RICOH THETA Z1
iF DESIGN AWARD 2020, Discipline: Product
THETA Z1, the latest addition to the THETA series, is a high-performance model for professionals and advanced amateurs. A pair of 1-inch sensors capture 360-degree panoramas in stunning resolution and clarity. The images are so real that the viewer feels as if she is in the scene. The camera body is made of magnesium alloy with a textured finish for better grip. An organic EL monitor allows the user to check camera information and settings directly without the need for a smartphone, improving operability for professionals and amateurs alike, and creating new possibilities for 360-degree shooting.
